The hummingbird species I see most often :), the only problem is that it chases away other species... :p

Sparkling Violet-ear / Orejivioleta iridiscente, Cusco, Perú.

There are about 130 species of hummingbird in Peru, I love them :). From what I've seen in photos, you have many other beautiful birds up there!

Hi again Peru birder, have you considered the sigma 150 macro lens:
Sigma EX 2,8/150 DG Macro. check the link: [link]
I am thinking of getting that one, my Sigma 70mm macro is great but I want the bugs to look bigger and with more details.
just a thought

That does look rather nice, thanks for the link. Before I can buy anything I need to convince my brother to visit me here (so he can bring it!).

That's because it owns the territory. I'm surprised it hasn't driven you off. I get buzzed all the time.

If they would just leave the only Green-tailed Trainbearer in the area alone for five minutes!
Still just the Southern Lapwing that's driven me off :phew:

My typical American solution to this type problem is shoot the problem. A good silent air rifle will work just fine.
